Thanks to a generous donation from Artists Projects Earth UK in 2007, Power of Hands has implemented a programme of renovations and repairs in Galle, Sri Lanka. Our lace making workshop premises now have a new roof in addition to office space and dyeing facilities. Also, many improvements have been made to the homes of lace makers. In addition to floor and roof repairs we have supplied basic but desperately needed domestic goods like kitchen equipment and bedding. These improvements are already making a direct contribution to safer and more secure working and living environments for these hard pressed crafts women.
